Starting Fall 2007, we are offering programs for girls entering 7th & 8th grade at our center three days a week. This program is free! Call (510)521-1743 and ask for Toniesha to make a registration appointment.

From 3:00-4:00pm, the girls can do homework and eat a healthy snack provided by Girls Inc. From 4:00-5:15pm we’ll have the programs listed below on the corresponding days.

FacilitateHER (Tuesdays)
Like working with kids? Do you have a skill or hobby to teach? Be a part of FacilitateHER and learn effective leadership and facilitation skills. Lead an icebreaker with girls in 1st through 6th grade and create your own lesson plan. You will begin the program as a counselor- in- training and finish the program as a confident group leader. This program meets Tuesdays from 3:00-5:15 p.m. Girls in 7th through 12th grade welcome.

Early Entrepreneurs (Thursdays)
Interested in having your own business in the future? Is there something that you LOVE to do and want to make it into a career? This program is for you. Come and learn the in and outs of creating a business and get it rolling now. This program meets Thursday from 3:00-5:15 p.m. Girls in 7th through 12th grade welcome.

Design Time (Fridays)
Are you interested in creating new things? Would you like to take the skills that you learn on a daily basis and make them applicable? Come and create projects using every day math, art, science, and media skills. This program meets Friday from 3:00 to 5:15 pm. Girls in 7th and 8th grade welcome.

Girls enCourage (Summer)
Girls enCourage is an adventure sports program for girls ages 12 to 14 offered during the summer. It is part of a program that builds movement and athletic skills, cooperative and competitive spirit, health awareness, and interest in all sports. Peer Pressure and Bullying (TBD)
We plan to offer a program for middle schools girls that will help them deal with peer pressure and bullying, that will help them develop healthy relationships, and that will help them avoid unhealthy habits such as smoking and drug and alcohol abuse. More information coming soon. Read More
